June 2022 Bandua - 800 schoolchildren fed at resettlement school!
On our recent trip to Bandua we visited one of the schools in Camp 2021 and decided to trial a feeding program. As we walked through the camp the constant cry we were hearing was: 'we are hungry.' On the day of the program great pans of sweet nutritious porridge cooked on burning sticks on the ground. The endless queues of children held their bowls in excited anticipation and it was a joy to watch their little faces as they savoured the sweet delight. It was a miracle that 800 children were fed that day and the teachers were so thankful saying that if we could do this regularly not only would it feed the children but also motivate them to come to school to be educated. Hungry bodies and minds are not receptive to learning.
It is our prayer and plan to trial a period if the funds allow. We would like to provide the meals twice weekly to start and see how it goes.
For just 10p a child will receive a bowl of nutritious porridge. £1 will feed 10 children per day. £10 will feed 100 children per day. £20 will feed 200 children per day. £80 will feed 800 children per day. Can you help?
